I've been bookkeeping for over a decade. Most of my clients are sole traders and small operators - people who didn't get into business to spend their evenings fighting with Xero.
Before I started this practice I ran my own business for ten years - sole trader through to Ltd company, five staff. I know what it's like to be elbow-deep in your own accounts at 11pm, and that shapes how I work with clients now.
I'll set Xero up properly, show you how to use it in plain English, and sit alongside you for the first couple of months. After that I keep your books running, or you do and I check in - whichever fits.

Teaching is the work, not the add-on.
Most bookkeepers do the books and hand them back. I'll do that too - but I'll also show you how Xero works in plain English, so you understand what's happening in your own business.
No daft questions.
If you've never used Xero before, you'll have questions. Some you'll ask twice. I'll answer them the same way each time, no eye-rolling. That's the difference.
Take the time it needs.
Setup is not a 30-minute job. I'll sit alongside you on every expense for the first couple of months. Rushed setup is bad setup.
When a new client starts with me, the first one to two months looks different from the months that follow. I'll sit alongside you on every expense and explain what to claim, what to flag, and why each one matters.
By the end of it, most clients can run Xero confidently themselves. After that, some keep me on monthly and some call me back when something tricky comes up. Both are fine - the point is you can choose, because you actually understand what's in your books now.
